Pan African Institute for Development (PAID) that will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary in 2014 is among the first African Higher Institutions of Learning and Research since independence. The institute consists of an organizational structure whose supreme organ is the Community members (General Assembly) and an operational structure which is headed by the Secretary General. Since its creation, five successive Secretaries-General has headed PAID. The current Secretary General is Professor Emmanuel KAMDEM, a former PAID staff member who worked for 24 years as a senior civil servant at the United Nations in Geneva. He is then a person who knows PAID and has gotten an extensive international experience.
